Not the exact Matrix, but the trilogy is fantastic and raises all those sort of questions, yes.

One thing that IS fake however, and most people don't realise this, is your ego. It's just been built up over time and can be altered or removed at will. This is also where 'bad trips' come from, i.e. people who freak out on psychedelics because they come to the sudden realisation of just how subjective and temporary there current lifestyle is. Ego death was long sought after in ancient times because by removing everything you know and all your distractions you could dig right down into your inner subconscious.

I definately think there is a hell of alot more to our minds than we know about or how to use. Not sure about exact percentages but there's quite a large percentage of brains that we don't use, it has to be there for something, but what?
