It's not insulting the intelligence of people. People wanting to evict John James are doing it because "UMG get him owt he's a bully xxx!!111", rather than using their intelligence for half a second, and thinking "oh wait, Steve has done absolutely nothing all series, so he doesn't deserve a place in the final". Entertaiment has everything to do with perception - and definitely is not fact - ie if it were fact - everyone would find that gobby idiot JJ entertaining - as it stands, at least 50% of the people that watch and vote can't stand him - probably a lot more - because surprise, surprise - they don't find him entertaining!
