as others have said why could they not have just changed the routine or just sang the song then? I don't buy that at all

Don't buy what? I know they were deffo supposed to do it because 2 dancers and their guitar player tweeted about it and I saw pics of the shields they were going to have use.

well you obviously know more than I do but why not just use a different dance routine or like some one else said sing it without the theatrics then? they didn't use any theatrics for the flood after all

Well that I don't know. Kidz isn't really a song you can just stand there and sing though,it would be based around some sort of routine. Maybe they thought they couldn't really do the song without it and they thought it would just be easier to do The Flood.
