Tame ending. I expected a bigger twist. Still good though. I enjoyed that. Ages since I've watched a good drama

I don't think the ending was disappointing story-wise. I'm glad they didn't go the predictable route of some of the present day characters ending up in the lake for a bit of an action sequence to try and make it exciting.
I expected someone to drown in a similar way, but it just kept the tone of the rest of the series. Quietly creepy.

The ending was a bit sh!t. I was expecting Olive's mum who was shagging Robert to have pushed Alice in the water or something. To kill her because she wouldn't want it spreading around that she was Robert's mistress. But even that didn't happen. Ahh well.

I loved it but the ending was a little crap and a bit predictable. I thought that Olive woman had something to do with it because theres no other reason for her being in the show really. if Olives mum threw her in it could have made it a bit more dramatic but it was pretty effective

Would've been nice to see Ruth see a happy non-corpse Alice at the end to tie it all up.

Now I already had a suspicion that the grandfather was involved somehow, but I was thinking more along the lines of he was abusing her which was why she was running away. The truth was a lot more mundane, and somehow didn't add a lot to the story. The fact that it was all about how Alice was hanging around in the house till her mother returned doesn't really do it for me. Apart from the disappointing ending though I have enjoyed the different storylines of the three families.

I quite liked the ending of it actually, like Alice wanted her mother to know that she was a good girl and that she hadn't ran away when her Grand Dad told her to wait for him like he said happened. Also, I think the mother from the 80's saying to Amy that she thinks she was wrong about Alice and that she was a good girl showed that too.

It is indeed one of the best dramas I've certainly seen in ages.
