I've just tweeted Steve and if our little friend above would care to do so himself the Twitter address is @SteveTheBaron. If I get a reply, I will copy and paste it on here. I really hope she has kept her promise - on top of all her other shortcomings, surely reneging on one she made in front of millions on national television will just make me despise her even more than I already do.

No-one seems to know the answer, so I have tweeted Steve directly to ask him. I doubt it because I'm pretty sure it would have been documented in some trashy mag or other.

Tsk tsk, "You're".
Well I have two sons in their 20s and a grandson - I thought everyone knew, I mention them a fair bit.

(Hmm, quite a different story over on DS - seems no money was forthcoming from Josie for the leg, and it was left to NinaC "Let's Rock" single (which included Corin and Mario) to try and raise the money for him).

I don't care for Josie, mainly because of her association with JJames in the house, but being fair,if she offered to get him it and he's refused her offer then she can do little more really.
Steve was not anywhere being a housemate I liked in the house but I totally agree with angus58 that the Govt/NHS should give him a free leg after his military service and the horrendous injuries he sustained then. Also trying to see humour in all things I love Jedward fevers comment above. |

Ben was the only one that I recall saying that he would have his own family and commitments to spend the money on if he won, all the others seemed to want to shout about giving moneyfor Steves leg. Tbh it would be lovely if all servicemen and indeed all physically handicapped people could have top of the range, all singing and dancing equiptment but its not possible, Steve always had the option of limbs through the NHS, just not the state of the art ones he wanted ![]() |

Steve did seem a rather difficult person to deal with so I can accept you are right. Ben was the only honest one in the house. He said what he meant and meant what he said. |

Yes I think Steve could be a difficult man but then he never asked anyone to buy him a leg. I agree re Ben, very honest, in fact too much so as it was his downfall ![]() |

My point is that servicemen and women in particular should ALWAYS be eligible for state of the art NHS treatment, equipment, prosthetics etc, by virtue of the unique job they do in service of their country. I truly believe they should be a special case. As for other disabled people, there would be a lot more NHS money and resources available if they clamped down on overseas health tourists and cleared at least 50% of the bureacratic fat cats out of hospital and health trust management. Let's face it, the NHS is another example where limited resources have been stretched way too far. Similarly too much funding is directed towards people who have self inflicted health issues, such as alcoholics, drug addicts and the morbidly obese. Perhaps there should be additional contributions from those who overload the NHS because of their own irresponsibility. If they can afford booze, drugs and massive amounts of food, they can afford to pay for their own treatment. But I guess a discussion about the failings of the NHS should be reserved for another thread! Back on topic - don't promise what you can't or won't deliver.
