Well the 3DS gets updates so I'm hoping they will include an update that brings something like pictochat but with like Warioware-style games in it, plus proper online stuff and achievements like Xbox and PS3.
Exactly, Nintendo really need to sort that. I ****ing hate friend codes. They're so awkward. They're so ****ing long as well, its like having to give out another phone number.

I know, you have to go through the hassle of loading the game, setting up Wi-Fi on every single game etc. just to get a separate friend code for every game!

The 3DS fixed that, in that you only have 1 friend code, but still it's like you're sat there going "yeah so it's 738446253467564357435395435439546853648563453483.1 4" whilst with PS3 and Xbox 360 you just rememeber their name of it's full of random caps, punctuation and numbers, it takes like 2 seconds to write down and type in, unlike Nintendo.

They should've learnt by now.

I don't think Nintendo will learn, I think they think they can keep selling family games and making a living from that but they need to wake up and realise that versatility and enabling your product to be able to appeal to multiple markets is the key to success.

Who knows though. This console might just be all of those things.

I agree, they won't learn.

Family games are good and all, and the thing is the Wii has some decent titles for all ages and both genders, with more fun controls, but if Nintendo had decent online features, I reckon they could do better than Sony or Microsoft with games like COD. I'd much rather be standing up and using a remote as a gun and stuff than sitting down using a controller. But no one will bother unless they stop focusing on just casual gamers, which is what they seem to do.

The thing is about Kinect though is you can't cheat at it. It forces you to actually use your whole body. With the Wii however, you can just sit on your couch and flap your wrist and win the whole game. Kinect may not have many standout games at the moment but thats sure to change when you realise the impact its had. Its been a huge cash cow for Microsoft and has sold like hotcakes for them. At E3 you'll probably see developers tapping into Kinect a lot more.

When I've played my Kinect with people that haven't used it before though, nearly all for them comment on how much better it is than the Wii. I wanted it for Dance Central alone.

Yeah. I'd love to see them having a good shooter on the new Wii and seeing a decent port of CoD involving the new technologies they're adding.

The Kinect is impressive. I played it at a youth lounge on its opening day (it's now overrun with chavs and Slovankian people, but that's not the point) with my friend and I was blown away. That friend even bought an XBox just for Kinect (stupid thing to do tbh) and he says it's amazing. He wants some crappy animal game on Kinect. Technology is wasted on him. He also got Lips. I worry about him.

And yeah it'd be brilliant to have a proper interactive shooter.

The Kinect will become a graveyard just like the Wii has recently. Why bother pushing proper games when you have a bunch of idiots willing to buy cheap to produce dance games and Exercise Sims? Microsoft have been completely idiotic with their handling of the Kinect from the start and it's too late to save it now as it's core audience is the same casual one that ended up turning the Wii into a desert. At least the Wii has a very sizable library of good games to boast about, I can't think of any true games for the Kinect.

It's a doomed product that'll die out sooner rather then later.
