I came here from a different forum, one where any kind of cliquiness or insult would not be tolerated by the mods, whether or not they knew you and despite how long you'd been a member. I don't think I've ever been on another forum where members are allowed to insult other people the way they do here, despite what it says in the rules. It's a proper struggle for newbies, I think, as some people seem to delight in being rude and insulting to new members knowing no one will do anything because they've been here a while.

Of course, not everyone is like that, and everyone's experience is different. I've also met some really nice, intelligent, friendly people here. Like you, InOne. But you're somewhat outnumbered.

I don't think its ok to give a new member a hard time based on who and what you think they are, thats different to not necessarily agreeing with their opinions. If mods are suspicious of them, then they will deal with that when they know for sure. Otherwise, its not up to members to be judge and jury. By the way, welcome to the forum Redway. I'm sure you will fit in well when the paranoia dies down.

I can agree with that, there are people I don't gel with but I wouldn't like to single them out to others just because they aren't my cup of tea. I think being rude to new people because they are new isn't very nice because I know myself if people were rude to me just based on being new I would probably not want to come back here. Obviously arguments because of BB are inevitable but at the moment I don't think new members should be singled out at all.
