Crossfire, obviously bull, what's probably most likely is that they roughed him up and shoved him about for a few hours until they got bored and put a bullet in his head

Yeah true, bet there's just gonna be loads of rival factions fighting it out now for control, right now you've got dozens of different armed militias roaming the country and it will probably be hard to convince them to give up their weapons ad return to normal

I think the video of Ghadafi being killed is disgusting. I'm super disappointed that we helped these little monsters overthrow another monster.

I am sick of that as well. And this is one of the things that wrongly gives islam a bad name. Everytime they commit their atrocities, they try to justify it, with "allahou akbar". Allah got nothing to do with it, and does not want anything like that done to a human being.

I dont care what Kadafi did, there is something really sinister about people, beating another human being to death, and glaoting about it. It just seems unreal to me, and it disturbs me to see, how cetain people just relish violence.

The sad thing about all of this is, Lybya, was one of the only african countries, that did not know starvation, malnutrition, or huge lacks in living standards. For the most part, lybyan were comfrtable, and khaddafi, was a great humanitarian, from helping sub saharian countries.
This si all about to change now, and nothing god will come out of this. Lybyans will regret it.

Gaddafi was known for backing a number of leaders viewed as anathema to Westernization and political liberalism, including Ugandan President Idi Amin, Central African Emperor Jean-Bedel Bokassa, Ethiopian strongman Haile Mariam Mengistu, Liberian President Charles Taylor, and Yugoslav President Slobodan Milošević.

Libya’s authoritarian regime had a poor record in the area of human rights. Some of the numerous and serious abuses on the part of the government include poor prison conditions, arbitrary arrest and prisoners held incommunicado, and political prisoners held for many years without charge or trial. The judiciary was controlled by the government, and there was no right to a fair public trial. Libyans did not have the right to change their government. Freedom of speech, press, assembly, association, and religion were restricted. Independent human rights organizations were prohibited. Ethnic and tribal minorities suffered discrimination.

Gaddafi's Revolutionary committees resembled similar systems in other totalitarian countries and reportedly 10 to 20 percent of Libyans worked in surveillance for these committees. The surveillance took place in government, in factories, and in the education sector.

Until recently, foreign languages were not part of the school curriculum. One protester in 2011 described the situation as: "None of us can speak English or French. He kept us ignorant and blindfolded".

The regime has often executed opposition activists publicly and the executions were rebroadcast on state television channels.

Yeah I wouldn't call him a "great humanitarian" at all although it is true that it was one of the rare African countries to enjoy a decent level of living standards, the Independent Obituary was interesting saying this:

Quote:
Gaddafi's saving grace, which allowed him to hold onto power for so long, was that he was personally ascetic, and apart from such foibles as a squad of female bodyguards or a Bedouin tent set up in his underground bunker, never went in for the trappings of power. Ruling a country of 15 million with a huge and steady oil income, he made sure the benefits went to the people, not to himself or his associates. Libyans had houses, an excellent health service, clean streets and plenty of things to buy, even when sanctions against him were in force. They also lived with an army of informers and ruthless domestic intelligence services which were swift to act against any signs of dissidence

Why does there have to be an investigation into their deaths.More money being spent on a useless investigation FGS.
They're dead no one person is going to come forwards and say they pulled the trigger.
Just concentrate on moving on and try and stop a civil war, where we may be involved with our troops once again.

Final seconds: Gaddafi is turned on his side
to face the ground, an apparent gesture
carried out to spare him from looking his killer in the eyes

faced down so he could not spook the Gun man.

It is at times likes this when I realise just how truly evil the world has become.

Even if Gaddafi was guilty of all these crimes the western world accused him of, he does not deserve the treatment he got and the response from so called civilized people throughout the west

The truth is that Gaddafi was a GREAT leader for Libya. The MAJORITY of the REAL libyan people loved him.

A minority of rabid rebels, backed by the western powers and a propaganda machine, orchestrated the whole libyan conflict for their own twisted ends.

The politicians of the west are corrupt and evil because they come from a corrupt and evil society.

The world is going to hell and the next generation will be even more sick and twisted.

NO.

We have always been evil, I'd say most people in general are less evil now, it's just we hear more about it, we would have not known about any of this if the internet and TV didn't exist, we'd be happy and safe in our own little bubble.

Look at history, do you see a time as peaceful as what we have now? We're pretty ****ing lucky.

We don't have Romans and Vikings raping and pillaging our villages, we have freedom of speech, and most importantly we have the UN a place where countries ambassadors SIT DOWN and TALK.

Human history is nothing but bloodshed, and it will be nothing but bloodshed. It's the way of the world.
