How many of you are vegetarians? Bashing an animal in the head with a baseball bat is not cruelty. That's probably the most humane way of killing it with limited resources.
I think it's more to do with the manner in which it was killed, it was done for entertainment, not for food or because it "the most humane way" of doing things

Although I do find it quite hard to get really worked up about this, there are far worse things happening in Afghanistan after all, and I do eat sheep all the time and I'm sure the way it is often killed in an abattoir isn't always so humane either

I get what you're saying, and I agree with the abattoir comment, but this has been done for fun. I don't agree with any kind of killing for fun, not hunting stuff you're not going to eat and definitely not beating an animal to death with a baseball bat while dickheads around you whoop and clap like the morons they are.

how do you know it was done for fun? The video doesn't explain at all why the sheep was killed or what they did with the meat afterwards. Do fisherman not get excited and cheer when someone catches a large fish to kill?? Do hunters not get excited when they kill a large deer and celebrate??

Yes ALL cowardly idiots that like to feel their 'power' over life and death,No need to kill in such a barbaric way unless of course you are a moron of the highest degree.

and what is a non-barbaric way to kill?

Please inform of us the CIVILIZED way to kill something. There's nothing civilized about killing. but we do kill animals, we are a species that eats other species.

Style should not be an issue when it comes to killing., the fact is we all enjoy the benefits of kiling, whether it's killing on an industrial scale, or on a personal scale, we all eat meat and we all accept that killing is part of our nutritional requirements as a species. (unless yur a vegan, although yur still kiling plants)

We aren't discussing talking about animals for food - the whole ISSUE here about this thread is that supposedly 'American' SOLDIERS have been part of this brutal, barbaric, clubbing to death of a defenceless animal, in the most appalling manner, and being seen to enjoy it - as well as the person doing the actual beating of the animal.

THAT is the context of the thread. Not how animals are killed overall.....it is the MANNER in which SOLDIERS are happily witnessing this - one even dragging the poor beast to it's horrendously hellish death.

I'm sorry, but unless you are a vegan, you are a hypocrite. Being happy about feeding your friends is not an evil thing, that is an act of love.

Think about all major events and holidays and celebrations.. what is the center of the event usually?? It's a MEAL, usually with a BIG hunk of MEAT that everyone shares.

Yeah I do agree with that

Edit - your post I mean, not the whooping at the animal being beaten with a baseball bat
