This made perfect sense to me and I take your point as to board games too, the only board game we play at home when I am there is Monopoly, it still is best as a board game.

I have 2 cousins who really get into it and they go mad when the properties they want get bought by others.
It is really funny to watch but listening to the mumblings and then the odd bickering going on can in itself be funny too.

I have even seen people go in a huff for a short time playing a board game when it became a close one and very competitive.

I cannot see a thing wrong with how this creation of Kate's has been played out,it is an election game and it has been fought at times with a bit of intensity as one would be, with humour, with it's really funny moments and also quite a bit of seriousness too.

62 members have thus far been involved as to the voting with some involved in creating the parties in the first place, thus far too 6 moderators are also involved in a party and the voting too, no real nastiness has been evident and in some ways I think a fair few things have been taken on board as to the way people think too
For all that alone it has been a really good exercise and fun game.

Now the poll is closed, JF and I of the Jedward/Joey coalition party congratulate the LaBear party on getting slightly more votes than any other.
They despite having a large influential vote among them have surprisingly failed to get more votes than the other 2 parties.

We do wish LaBear well and hope if they take control that they keep their promises but we feel we can safely predict that following this election, under the LaBear party, likely nothing will be delivered of any importance and that really nothing will change.

A very special thank you to our campaign Manager Livia, who has stood head and shoulders above all campaign managers in this election.A brilliant asset to any party. Congratulations Labear on their win. Enjoy it… if this happens again it could be a very different result. Congratulations also to the Piddles Party for their dignity and fair-play throughout.

Well done to JF and Joey on a good fight, fairly fought. Although they didn’t win this time, they did come in second to a party full of mods. I don’t say that in a critical way (really, I don’t… oh okay, slightly critical…), I say it because they gained a lot of support by the sheer volume of people who they know and interact with every day. So in comparison the Coalition’s result goes some way to show what a great pair of guys Joey and JF are.

A mention in despatches for MTVN, the mod who stood alone.

Thanks Kate for hosting this, it was really good fun, and not one fight. Amazing!

Finally, I’d like to quote that old wag, Mark Twain, who could have written this line for the Coalition: It is better to deserve honours and not have them than to have them and not deserve them. Well done lads.

Just saying, I didn't start this party with some hidden pact that Mod's would join, I thought it would be forgotten and no one would support it until Samuel did (who isn't a mod, shock horror) I set it up as a throwaway stupid Labour pun and then Vicky..Eoin etc etc all joined up of their own choice

Shaun deserves most of the credit because I don't think we'd actually have got a manifesto without him
