As much as I love BBUS, Dan's "funeral" made me cringe so much!

Ah, but it was a masterstroke

I just prefer the format of BBUS > BBUK...the last two BBUK (non-celeb) series, I have just failed to become engaged at all.

All the **** Dan does is cringe. I long for for a world where we could all forget about the veto roulette.

5 basically has a USA only channel correct? Maybe they should show BBUSA on that channel or 5*.

I just watched that and before I talk about it let me confess I'm a total BBUS n00b I watched bits of one series... the one that was broadcast in the UK for a while on E4? I think it was BB8? Not sure, anyway.

I like the whole tactical side of it compared to the UK version, and the idea of the public having little influence over who goes and stays is nice, but after watching that video... it was impossible to relate to any of them? Maybe the game's so highly evolved and concentrated on but it just drained all humanity out of anything I just watched LOL. Like I can see that this is apparently a masterplan pulled off by Dan and I believed Danielle's reaction to be genuine, but the blinking incredulousness of the rest of the HGs just baffled me.

I dunno, I'm only commenting on this because it compares BBUK to this, and I in no way am in a position to judge a whole show on one episode LOL, but I didn't really feel entertained by that. They all act quite OTT (seriously, their reactions to the funeral, rofl) and I just couldn't find anything enjoyable about it.

I completely agree with this actually and it's why I much prefer earlier seasons where you got proper insight into everyone's decisions. For example in Big Brother 2 (I'll spoiler the rest in case people want to watch it in future )

Spoiler:

Krista's eviction week. Everybody realised she was a huge threat in the game but at the same time, most of them (particularly Bunky) were struggling with the fact they'd be voting out a single mother which financial troubles. Will struggled with the idea he'd be voting out his best friend's (Boogie's) showmance, whom he vowed to protect. Monica showed hatred that her and her best friend being targetted by people they thought were on their side and Nicole and Hardy were seen as these horrible people for putting up the single mother but you saw insight into their thought process.

At the end of that series you really felt like you learnt about 12 complex, interesting characters whereas in this series you look at who's remaining and you have no REAL connection with them because you haven't really been able to relate with them on any personal level. I know that they love casting "cut-throat" people, but it'd be much more interesting if they got a good mix of people who weren't so ruthless with the game as well.

I've noticed that over the past 3-4 seasons they've gotten well away from getting to know the actual characters of the show on the highlights shows. Like most and yourself, I loved season 2 more than any of the others. I will say that the only way to get the full experience of the US show these days is to stay tuned to the live feeds, where you do get to know the people and sort of grow with them, but it's very time consuming. The HL shows are total crap, imho.
