I think a good time to arrive is 5/10 minutes late, it's late enough to hopefully avoid too much awkward waiting on your own if the people you're meeting are even later, but it's also not that late that people will be annoyed at you for having kept them waiting

I'm always early...not too much. My dad is always ridiculously early somewhere. If he's taking me somewhere and I know we have to leave at 7, I tell him we have to leave at 7.15 as he will be here at 6.50 anyway. That dries me a but mad too as then I'm rushing thinking I'm keeping him waiting when he was the one who was early.

I am very rarely late for anything, usually on time or before.

I hardly late at work. (I am retired now)
We can't rely on public transport run on time so I would leave home earlier just in case. I hate to be late. If I have to meet someone rather than friend, to make sure I do not arrive too early. I would adjust time somewhere else. I used to go to somebody's house (a lesson) at 13:30. If I arrived too early, I would keep walking the street up and down and knock the door on time. One day the person asked me "How did you always manage to arrive dead on time?" ![]() If a friend invited me for dinner or something, I would make sure I do not knock the door earlier than we arranged as she might not be ready to have guest yet. if I visit my best friend and if I might arrive late or earlier, then i would call her to let her know about it.

I have a joke.
"I never late for school. If I was going to be late, I will skip school."

![]() I'm pretty much always on time, even when I go to meet someone who is always late. |

(I might have mentioned it to some other thread.) I always leave home with very little time to catch a train and often end up running. One morning, I was walking toward a station with other commuters guessing catch a same train. Suddenly a lady started to run. Then behind her was a gentleman in front of me started to run. So I started to run just because they started to run. Then a young mother with a little girl in a pram passed me and I heard "Mammy, why are they running?" ![]()

No, not really...usually arrive just on time/a few minutes late. As Matt said, it's awkward waiting alone for half an hour.
