I think it is relative but at the same time, someone feeling bloated is not the same as being FAT.
It would be like a white person complaining... oh i'm so black, i've been tanning outside all day and my skin is sooo dark. If you said that near a black person, i can understand that they might get offended. If you you are moaning about it, it's basically saying that you think there is something wrong with it. Same with being fat, if you are moaning about feeling fat, it makes it seem like you think there is something wrong or bad about being fat. so of course it would make the actual fat people in the room feel uncomfortable.
