![]() Calvin Harris has broken Michael Jackson's UK chart record for the most top ten singles from one album. Harris achieved his eighth top ten hit from his LP 18 Months on Sunday's (April 21) chart, reaching number seven with his Ellie Goulding collaboration 'I Need Your Love'. Jackson held the record previously with seven top ten hits from his 1987 LP Bad. The Scottish DJ and producer took to Twitter last night to celebrate his success. His impressive chart run dates back to June 2011 when 'Bounce' featuring Kelis peaked at number two. He achieved another second placed single with 'Feel So Close' before hitting number one with Rihanna on 'We Found Love'. ![]() His Ne-Yo collaboration 'Let's Go' also placed at number two at the beginning of last year. He followed that up by working with Example on 'We'll Be Coming Back', which also charted at number two in the UK. ![]() He achieved another number one with Florence Welch on 'Sweet Nothing' before reaching number five earlier this year with Tinie Tempah track 'Drinking From The Bottle'. Martin Talbot, the Official Charts Company's Managing Director, commented: "Many artists only achieve a handful of hits in their entire careers, so for any act to secure three or four from one album is an excellent achievement. "In turn, eight Top 10s from one album is not just impressive, it is absolutely remarkable. And, of course, record breaking. Congratulations to Calvin Harris, THE modern day hit-maker." 18 Months has sold over 543,000 copies in the UK since it was released in October of last year. It topped the charts for two weeks before spending a total of ten weeks inside the top ten. Jessie J, Lady GaGa and Katy Perry currently hold the record for a female singer, with six top ten singles from individual studio albums. Take That hold the record for a group with six top ten hits from their 1993 album Everything Changes. Digital Spy |

Fair play, Sweet Nothing, We'll Be Coming Back, We Found Love and Feels So Close were great singles, and I don't dislike any of the songs from the album which he has released

He hasn't got much else to release now though, just a few tracks with no lyrics, collaborations with nobodies, and an assault to the ears with Dizzee Rascal. Hope he quits whilst hes ahead and start on a new album before releasing anything else.

I would have said Thriller by MJ had created the most hits, but looking at it it only had 6. Human Nature should have been a single.

Most people wouldn't have tracks running from 2011 - 2013 coming from the same album.
![]() ...not 8 at least. Last edited by james130; 22-04-2013 at 09:48 PM. |

Calvin
![]() I remember in 2009 - when only a few of us on here had heard of him back at the start of that year, and he was only really known for 'I'm Not Alone' - now look at him, he has a real success story.

It might as well be a compilation album so it shouldn't really count. And We Found Love was never released as a single from his album, so no...

Hilarious. To be fair I suppose a few of the tracks were released before the album, but then again the latter tracks have done well in the charts too. I think he's done well for himself and credit where credits due.

Drinking From The Bottle and Let's go never get old. The rest I don't really listen to.

Its laughable he's still milking this album considering Bounce was released more than 2 years ago
![]() Its just a compilation of collabarations - Ready for the Weekend was a far better album.

On reflection, it's a bit cheap to claim this record when he's a producer more than an actual artist. Same goes for David Guetta, but at least Calvin Harris does sing on occasion. Meh.
