He said something stupid. He knew it and he regretted it. He tried to apologise. Linda rightfully was upset. He should try to apologise again tomorrow.

He might have, however I don't feel it was genuine at all.
He caused her all that hurt and distress he knew what he said would that's why he said it...
So what's he sorry about? he got what he wanted.

But he didn't say it to her, he said it to Luisa. If he'd intended to hurt Linda and cause her distress, he'd have said it to her face, he's shown on plenty of occasions that he has no problem with telling people what he thinks of them. I think his mask slipped and that came tumbling out in a moment of anger when he really didn't mean for Linda to hear it all and that's why he's sorry, because he knew that it had upset her.

He told motormouth luisa zee... He knew full well she would ask who frank carson was or just repeat the exact phrase he asked her to, to linda.
If he'd said it himself that would have made him the antagonist, so he had luisa do it then sat in the garden to await linda who was understandably distressed.
He then lied and massaged what he'd said and done to appear innocent, he's not sorry and my guess would be he enjoyed seeing her so upset.

He said it was probably something to do with Frank carson, luise looked inquisitively at him and he said go on ask her about Franks dressing room. Hardly a direct attempt to blurt, more of a cajoled effort in response to **** stirrer Luisa,s constant meddling.
