..oh I had forgotten about my ear because I don't think of it as an 'illness' as such, it's something from a previous thing but it's a bit different from yours because it's a constant buzzing but when I'm tired or stressed or anything it gets much worse and can be very uncomfortable and difficult to sleep with especially..also, like you I have problems with certain noises/voices/pitches in that they are physically painful and make me flinch which can be really embarrassing...
