Who would you send home and who would you take to replace them?

Generally happy with the squad. One of the mids for Barry/Carrick just so we have someone that can actually protect and get Glen Johnson the **** out for anyone.

I'd send Milner back straight away and replace him with a natural right back like Kieran Trippier and judging from Johnson and Milner's performances there in the last two games I'd be tempted to make him first choice

With the way Hodgson plays, Milner is pivotal. He's just not a right back.

Sam Hutchinson has played just 28 games since 2006, that is just insane

I would send Wayne Rooney home as well. He has played in 8 World Cup matches (4 at the last 2 World Cups) and scored..........0 goals which for a striker/goalscorer is pretty crap.
Not sure about Jermain Defore either But what do I know about Football

Agree, but the sponsors would kill the FA as Wayne essentially is the face of England. The truth is if another player had scored plenty of goals and he zero in friendlies Wayne would still get picked as he is WR.

Quote:
2006 World Cup he had a broken metatarsal, hadn't played since April. Returned in a World Cup quarter final as a substitute. Hard to expect him to make much impact when he was miles from match fit. 2010 he had 34 goals for United by mid March the season before the World Cup. He got injured in Munich and was never the same from then on. No coincidence that after Fergie rushed him back he didn't score again for United that season and was poor for England. Looking nothing like the player that was tearing it up in the campaign prior. Tons criticise Rooney for his lack of goals at World Cup tournaments. However, everybody ignores the fact he has injuries prior to those tournaments. I also wouldn't be surprised to see him do very little again this summer. He's been fooked ever since Moyes rushed him back for the Bayern game. Last edited by Ryan57; 11-06-2014 at 10:20 AM. |
