..I've always had a great relationship with both of the boys, one is so much like me and the other is the complete opposite but even though we've always been close, it would be the worst thing in the world if they didn't break away, because they're adults now, like you are Niall and it's important for them to do things their way because they're not younger versions of me or how I've lived my life etc and they will want to do things differently, and distancing is the only way to truly do that, no matter even if you did have a great relationship...for now, if being with your dad makes you feel that you're learning about yourself and what you need and want and which direction you want to go then it's a good place for you..(and I'm glad he's been a star..)..and then eventually you'll move on from that as well and start taking your paths/choosing them...
