And he does it in such as way as to come across superior spiritually which can rub people the wrong way if he keeps saying it as if that should shut anyone up and no more needs to be said...

Maybe he would expand on it if anyone would let him get a word in without shouting at him and rolling their eyes. I'm not a believer but he clearly believes his thing and I think its right to respect others beliefs even if you don't share them it means a lot to them.
