Well, on the old forum, C&G posts used to count, correct? Then surely the majority of your post count is from that?

I think they were turned off around the time the chat threads (the early incarnations of The Lounge, The Brotherhood, Zeta, and whatever the Nailsworth/Smithy's lot threads were called) popped up. I don't think the admins had much of a problem with 'game' posts counting because they were, for the most part, relevant to the topic and didn't go on for 50+ pages (let alone 500 )

It's just commonplace now for threads to go on and on forever with just 'chat' which - whilst completely fine - isn't really thought about I guess?

I don't know, like I said I don't really mind I'm not all that opposed to the idea.

I've never really understood this rule. Well I do, but it doesn't make sense. A post count is a measure of the number of posts you have made on a forum, if you're going to display a post count then discounting certain sections of the forum means the figure isn't accurate...so it's not a post count, is it? Might as well just get rid of it

I don't think it would increase spamming as seems to be claimed (and is the reason behind it) but if it did then just ban those people? Spamming is already against the rules after all
