Mark Ronson's 'Uptown Funk' release pulled forward after X Factor contestant performance

The track - which was covered on X Factor over the weekend - was originally set for release on January 11

The release of Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars' new single 'Uptown Funk' has been brought forward to tonight (December 8).

The song was originally set for release on January 11, 2015, but following a performance of the song on The X Factor over the weekend by contestant Fleur East - which was subsequently released and is now topping the iTunes chart - the song will now be available on iTunes this evening, reports Popbitch.

'Uptown Funk' is the first single from Ronson's new album 'Uptown Special', due for release in January 2015. Ronson previously shared 'Daffodils', a collaboration with Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker which will also feature on the album. Parker is understood to feature on three tracks on the album. Simian Mobile Disco's James Ford, Miike Snow's Andrew Wyatt, Hudson Mohawke and DJ Zinc will all feature on the LP, as well as Bruno Mars.

The album follows on from 2010's 'Record Collection' and has been inspired by the New York hip-hop scene of the '90s.

Mark Ronson has released his new single 'Uptown Funk' on iTunes following Fleur East's performance of the song on The X Factor.

The track - which features vocals from Bruno Mars - was due for release in the UK on January 11, 2015, but is now available to purchase a month early.

The decision to bring the song's release forward follows the popularity of East's rendition, which hit number one on the UK iTunes store last night (December 7).

East's performance received unanimous praise from the X Factor judges on Saturday, and earned her a place in this weekend's final, where she will compete against Ben Haenow and Andrea Faustini for this year's title.

'Uptown Funk' serves as the first single to be lifted from Ronson's new album Uptown Special, which is set for release on January 26.

Uptown Special is the producer's first album in four years, and follows 2010's Record Collection, which peaked at number two in the UK.

I watched her performance too, it's similar to the original version but she added a little bit of her own to it. I hope she wins.
