I am a bit fearful tbh because if you are in massive debt and have agreed a way to get out of that debt but it means a lean time, then the last thing you really want to do is ignore the debt, vote for a new party that will default on the debt or borrow more or pay back less over a longer time.

either way it's not a way out or a recovery but rather stick ones head into the sand, or rob peter to pay paul.

If they think it's bad now...wait until the economy totally implodes and they have anarchy in the streets.
