I do enjoy Fry when he's on-form. It's a great shame that he suffers from bouts of depression as he does, because I find that many (sniveling, weak, pathetic) people find it easy to discredit him based on things he does or says when he's in a "down" phase.

Of course, I suspect that when you have a clear view of the world as it really exists, as he does, those phases of existentialist depression are almost inevitable. This place is ****ing horrible and not many people seem overly concerned with making it much better, preferring the "status quo". That can be hard to deal with, when you don't have pretty stories of a perfect afterlife to lean on.
