You could make this argument about a lot of things, though. If it's about privacy - do they have to ban telescopic camera lenses next? Someone with a good vantage point can take a picture of you without you knowing just as easily with one of those as they can with a drone.

Personally, I don't think the device themselves should be banned, only specific uses should be legislated against (such as spying). I've seen a few truly amazing shots of scenery and wildlife taken using drones, it would be a shame to make them completely illegal as they have plenty of Legitimate uses.

I can even think of household uses. Like if you think your roof may have been damaged in bad weather - fly your drone up to have a look rather than teetering around on a ladder. Tradespeople and construction workers could make use of them in similar ways, too.
