Clearly, you didn't read my comment where I said I did GET that it was meant in a light hearted way. Danny could have responded back to her in the same way but I don't think anything would have lightened the mood at that point. Have you ever tried to crack a joke shortly after an argument? It goes down like a lead balloon.
