It's usually the girls that explode onto the scene that flop hardest, adele, paloma, little mix (ellie too i guess) all debuted kind averagely but then just grew from there

the BRITS/BBC tend to pump more and more energy into promoting new music and artists and then just toss them to the side unless you're under 25 and only one album into your career (or you're part of a massive label with milions to buy them out), Radio 1 aren't gonna be interested.

Maybe it's because the girls in the OP have big debut eras and can't live up to the hype in the second era. Plus they lose the whole 'brand new artist' shtick too

It underperformed yes, but still got number one and she was widely talked about and Air Balllom and Hard Out Here were mediocre hits, so clearly isn't a "flop"!

She got bigger with every album/rerelease, plus she was featured on some of the biggest songs of the past couple of years with Outside & I Need Your Love and with the huge success of LMLYD you'd have just expected the demand for her newest album to be a lot higher than what it was, it only debuted at 3
