Let's be honest...Lily can be scathing, she doesn't just voice her opinion she's attacked people for nothing before now.

Is her Brits comment just her slagging something off yet again and using something in the press to get herself some press?

Yes. I hadn't because she's off my radar until she releases music but after seeing this topic I did my research and I half agree and half disagree.

Which artists does she think deserve nomination and who over is something I would like to ask.

Nobody in particular, she slammed the process as a whole for ignoring black british artists. Given the year it has been for the (re)breakthrough of grime, she's hardly wrong.

Grime has never been recognised at the Brits they aim for mainstream music and it won't change

Has it? All I can think of is Stormyz who didn't even perform well in the charts.

Hasn't the Brits always been a bit more mainstream?

Honestly it comes across as her just moaning in general, if the MOBOS ignored Grime I would see the point.

but grime has hit mainstream the past year, that's exactly the point because it's still going unrecognised in favour of people with guitars who make for perfect BBC Radio 1 fodder.

The only Grime Music that will ever get recognised by The Grammys are the more Popped up songs, hence why out of the Indie/Folk genre James Bay and Ed Sheeran have been so successful because they're essentially Pop Music with a fusion of Indie/Folk.

I don't listen to radio 1, I do scan the top 40 on Spotify though and as I mentioned I can only recall Stormyz and didn't it not even scrape the top 10?

I'm not trying to be difficult here but why should artists be excluded from nominee short lists in favour of less successful acts just to add diversity?
