If by we, you mean this site.... I would say it is well above 2% .... I would even suggest the gay, lesbian and bi community on here makes up the majority...and I have no problem with that... do you?

so %8 of the people who took to poll are lgbt (I am counting idks are lgbt as well because well bitch you know what you like) and probably with some people lying it is around %10

and no thetruth why we talk about the silent majority, what is there to talk about? If a topic comes off we will talk about it but i dont understand the agenda of "umm what about me lets talk about me poor me" like we talk about topics that are important to society if people want to get the attention my group is getting then you can take the attention but i want to have same the comfort and the rights you have, trust me it is very uncomfortable to have people talking about your existence all the time.

This doesn't mean that 1 in 30 people are gay. The stats are actually really positive and encouraging and show a shift to young people better accepting themselves and their sexuality. The stand out one for me is the increase in people who identify as bi which has almost doubled in the last 4 years. The number that identify as gay has dropped 0.1% percent in that time but that's not surprising considering the increase in the bi bracket is approx 8 times that figure. So it shows that many more young people are comfortable being identified as 'lgbt' and don't feel as boxed in to say they are gay when in fact they are bi (and all of that is ignoring the people who didn't answer/don't know/identify as 'other').

It's important I think to not read stats like the headline and assume that the number of gay people that exist has changed dramatically. There's a huge difference between how many gay people there are, and how many gay people are open about (and fully understand) their sexuality when they're young. The changes in stats like this aren't a reflection of the number of gay people increasing/decreasing, it's a reflection of changing attitudes.
