I agree that screech was horrendous but he was undoubtedly one of the best songwriters of his generation, an underrated guitarist and for me the thing he did more than anything else was the way he fused funk/RnB with Rock like no other artists I have ever come across. Prince was one of the few who actually lived up to the tag of genius.

I like some of his stuff, Purple Rain I love but he's just not my cup of tea for the main
