this is all because of his enormous popularity, otherwise his songs would've never become hits, backing up my previous statement that the charts are a popularity contest these days


real artists care about the music and singing for their fans, the charts are just a nice fact, the fans are more important

i really dislike Sam Smith, but this song really is good i can't say that it's awful just because i dislike the artist
