I hate everything, I've got a bad case of tonsilitis and I can't sleep or do anything to take my mind off the pain.

They gave my 80 penicillin tablets and I've been to the pharmacy to ask them if I'm okay to take painkillers with them since it's been a day on the Penicillin and I'm not feeling any better. The painkillers aren't doing much either though. I hate this.

Probably will take a few days to kick in, the Doctor should have prescribed you some proper pain killers as well though

I've been gulfing down lots of yoghurts over the past few days, it's given me a few moments of peace by numbing my throat. I've sent my brother out for some ice cream though so I'll be eating that soon enough.

Our surgery isn't great, no bedside manner tbh so it doesn't surprise me that they didn't prescribe painkillers. Our pharmacy is pretty great though.

try growing up with tonsillitis, them stop removing tonsils when i was wee AND being allergic to penicillin

I have the same issue minus the allergy, I used to have it frequently as a child but thankfully I didn't have it for years until now. I'd forgotten how horrid it is.

I might try that tomorrow, thanks for the tip. The painkillers I got today seem to be kicking in a bit though so hopefully that's a sign things are getting better.
