I don't remember requesting Abi to get up and start body popping on the hospital floor.

I said she will wake up. Thus leading Max to using Weyland money to pay for her care, most likely in a clinic close to Tanya.

My thoughts exactly. It can't be simply that she dies as it's dragged out a tad too long.

But then there's so many random scenes. Like Josh appearing at Weyland when Max was stealing all of the deeds to the businesses. He was clearing out an office, not asking what Max was up to, not visiting Lauren. We didn't even see his reactions.
