Why haven't you watched?
Anyway, I don't see that it's "sick" to do this type of thing. It just highlights the person's desperation. In his mind he won't be using his father's memory in any sick way(since he most likely
did love him and
does miss him) .. he's simply dialling into his sadness at a time of convenience. But as you'll see if/when you watch it, when something like this is
forced rather than happening naturally, it doesn't come across well.
