I'm sure they'll be able to confirm it's her remains if they do find it there, but it's not very likely that there will be anything left of her body bar her skeleton if she's been dead for 7 years - so they won't be able to figure out how she died unless there's damage to her skeleton, I would have thought? So even if they find her skeleton, all that will do is confirm she's dead and the last 7 years of false sightings and fund raising have been pointless because her dead body was lying relatively close by to the apartment all this time. All these allegations of paedophile rings and preposterous theories about her being taken away in a boat will be proven to be farce. All that finding her skeleton will do is confirm that she is dead which will give the world closure on the matter; it won't prove how she died (probably) and it won't prove the McCanns to be innocent or guilty (probably).

Really? After 7 years?? I don't know much at all about decomposition but that seems like an awful long time, especially considering she was 3 years old so her body would decompose a lot faster than an adult body as there's less of her, I'm assuming?

Time's definitely running out then. Makes the conspiracy theorist in me wonder if they've stalled for time so the McCanns can get away with it. I was having a rant about them to my parents before I went out last night because it was on the news, still think they should be jailed or at least given community service for neglecting their kids and allowing this to happen in the first place, even if they have nothing to do with her disappearance/death it's still 100% their fault that this opportunity arose in the first place. Compared to the James Bulger case, for example. His mum had her back turned for a second and those awful boys took her son away. The McCanns left their kids alone in an unlocked apartment in a foreign country while they went out to get drunk with their friends. So irresponsible and it makes me very angry that they've 1) become celebrities out of this and 2) have profited out of the public's sympathy for a little blonde white girl whose parents are middle class doctors. If they were from a council estate nobody would feel sorry for them, would they? The double standards make me so angry.

Police investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann are carrying out DNA tests on scraps of clothing they found in a hidden pit just feet from where she vanished, it has been claimed.
Forensic experts drafted in from the UK are said to be carrying out analysis of the 'non-organic' material, which was found near a hole in the ground on wasteland in Portugal's Praia de Luz resort.
The find comes as officers said they need they need at least another week to search the strip of wasteland, which is just 1,000 feet from the Ocean Club complex from which Madeleine went missing on the evening of Thursday May 3, 2007.

I always had that thought that she had woken up and went looking for them and maybe fell down a shaft,I'm sure I posted it here somewhere in the past,I'm not sold on the abduction theory.

The area is too far away from the apartment for her to have wandered there un noticed by anyone, IMO.

This for me was another puzzling part of this. Her parents are absolutely adamant that waking and wandering was not a possibility. For me..leaving the doors open, that would have been my first thought if a child able to get herself out of bed and walk about (who had a habit of waking and wandering too apparently) was gone from her bed

Yeah me as well and especially since she'd already told them she'd woken up the night before and was crying and looking for them. She's been kidnapped would certainly not be the first thing I would have thought especially when the other two kids were still there asleep and there was no sign of a break in. I would think that If I was in that situation the first thing I'd be doing would be to search and get everyone else searching for and calling her name etc. I can't understand why they would be so hell bent on dismissing, the most likely of possibilities, that she wandered, through the unlocked door to look for them

Definitely. Especially after she said "I was looking for you" or "I couldn't find you" about the night before.

Kate's first words being "They've taken her" or some such is a huge "wtf?" to me.

Surely the first reaction (I would imagine) would be running out onto the street to see if she had walked off.

See that to me sounds pretty plausible but the only thing I don't understand is who would help them cover it up and why? Having a good job is surely not motivation enough to cover up a childs death and waste millions and millions on pointless investigations, I mean they're not the president of the US or anything

Yes all true ,Amarals belief is as you say ,he then goes on to say they disposed of her body ,which is what i believe too

Well that sounds plausible but it would've been an accidental death, so what would be the motivation to cover it up?

Well, the theory is that they used to sedate the kids when they went out so if she fell while they were out while drugged, then it would be manslaughter rather than accidental death

I mean I honestly don't care at this point anymore what actually happened on that night, it almost doesn't matter anymore. She is gone. Even if she's still alive somewhere, what kind of a life will she lead now? She'll have been abused in the most horrific ways, the McCanns aren't going to get their little 3 year old back, they'll be getting an 11 year old psychologically ruined, possibly disabled girl who can never lead a normal life. The chances are that even if she was kidnapped for a paedophile ring, she'll be long dead, she became high profile and is probably the most well known missing child in the world, there's no way they'd keep her alive. Best possible scenario is she was kidnapped for adoption, but then who's going to have adopted her and NOT know who she is? So let's face it, that little girl died a long time ago. They're not likely to ever catch whoever did it unless they have a body, and it's been 7 years and she's probably been dead this whole time, so they're not going to find a body, at best they'll find skeletons and maybe some remnants of her corpse - but again, how much can they prove with that? It's just grim. I don't think they'll ever solve this case. But it's clear to me that her parents are horrible people who clearly do not accept any responsibility for her disappearance and that to me is criminal in itself. Lock them up for god's sake! They've refused to cooperate with the police over their own little girl's disappearance! I think they're terrible, terrible people. Why would you not answer every single question and try your absolute best to get her back? Arseholes. I ****ing hate them!!!
