This forecast is based on certain solar, atmospheric and sea state conditions that are in place prior to the start of this winter. These conditions will be examined in turn, but ultimately they will lead to atmospheric responses that are likely to influence the forthcoming winter pattern.
Overall the key conclusions are that winter will have the following characteristics: Slightly colder than average. Around average rainfall but conditions favour wetter further south and drier to the north of the UK. December likely to be the most unsettled month with the risk of a significant wind event (though less so compared to last year). February the most settled and driest month. Late December and into January is most likely to herald a significant wintry spell, though other major cold snaps throughout the winter are likely as well. Most of the UK likely to see some settling snow at some point. Overall Winter CET of 3.5-4°c. December CET forecast: 4-4.5°c. January CET forecast: 3-3.5°c. February CET forecast: 3.5-4.5°c. http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?a...ast-2014;sess= |

Looks like there will be some snow when a front pushes through sat sun and introduces cold NW air behind it. This will lead to wintry showers for Scotland and some parts of England but amounts of snow will be small.
So if you are say above 500 feet in West England or in Bonnie Scotland you may see some snow showers. ![]() |

Severe gales may affect much of North Wales, Northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland on Wednesday with a risk of storm force winds for parts of Western Scotland.
The very strong winds may lead to significant disruption due to fallen trees and hazardous driving conditions. The public should be aware of the potential for disruption to travel and perhaps also power supplies. Frequent wintry showers will also affect these regions proving an additional hazard. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/w...®ionName=st |

Just been into town and it was cut off as the big river has burst its banks and was flowing over the road for around 300 yards. LT just moved the Police closed sign and went up on the path and drove along it as it was flowing but shallower (mind you the drop off on the side would not be clever as its a 4 feet deep and soft and its only a cars width wide) and I made it into town.
We only had 25mm in last 24 hours but the big rivers catchment is way out west Cold air has dug in here and it was only 6 C as i made my way |

"James Madden, a forecaster for Exacta Weather"
No, he is a one man unqualified bloke working out his house with no checks or comebacks who celebrity gossips sheets like the star and mirror use for cheap headlines. "No meteorological or climate models have been used in the production of the following long-range weather forecasts. All forecasts are produced on a number of personal observations and calculations, that also include; solar activity, ocean behaviour, and historical weather patterns from my own unique collective data. This method of forecasting allows me to make a long term judgement on the factors that I consider to be the most important, and what I also consider to be the most reliable in the future for long term weather forecasting." (from his awful website) In other words he makes it up ![]() And from the Star and the headline: "Temperatures may be as low as -4C in northern England and Scotland.": Min temps have been this low for a few weeks and that is exactly what one expects for Nov. So the article is utter and complete crap. |

When ever you hear anyone say "they say blah bla blah" about the weather
ALWAYS ask them "who say?" 9/10 its not the Met Office so it can be totally ignored |
