E3 is a games convention in which pretty much all the major Game companies hold conferences to announce and reveal new games and consoles and such. It's basically what you just saw spread over three days.

I don't like the sound of a holiday's 2013 release, that sounds a bit... I don't know maybe not rushed as such but totally taking things a bit too fast I suppose.. It's not going to be a Christmas present for me anyway tbh, unless my brother wants to join in with the PS4 hype. We'll see what happens.

Infamous & Watch Dog have my interest now though.

Im not overly impressed with this ps4, feel like it doesnt wowme like the change from ps1 to ps2 did or ps2 to ps3did.

Also annoyed that gta 5 w8nt be out on xbox 360 now, probs just next xbox and ps4

GTA V is not next gen, Rockstar have denied over and over that it will not be next gen, it's coming out for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

I do agree that the PS4 doesn't really seem to be such a big step up.

I'd actually disagree with that, It's a huge leap graphics wise between this generation and the next. I actually thought the leap between this generation and the last was kind of small.

PS4 to ship with headset

Perhaps today's most important revelation is the confirmation that the PS4 will come with a headset, which can plug into a dedicated headset jack on the bottom of the controller. Not shipping a headset with the PS3 was a major mistake for Sony, and has resulted in quieter chat lobbies than the Xbox 360 offers players

Remember these are very early development titles. In KillZone's case, a launch title. Compare Uncharted 1 to 3.

Also you have to remember that PS2 to 3 there was a big leap due to HD. This time around it seems it'll be more about refinement somewhat. Better draw distance, less jaggies etc.

I fully expect us to be wowed in about five years time though. I still found KillZone to look fantastic at the conference.~

Edit: I said to friends some time back that I thought next gen would see more improvement in features than in graphics. We saw lot's of features cited at the conference that just weren't possible on the PS3.

Expect a big announcement from Sony about its next-gen PlayStation 4 console this month or possibly in early May, a source familiar with the company's marketing strategy told PCMag this week.

GDC was probably the last big stage for the company to talk up the successor to the PlayStation 3 before the E3 gaming conference in June, unless Sony manufactures its own event. That's precisely what Sony plans to do, according to the source, who said late April/early May will be the likeliest timeframe for a full-blown launch of the PS4.
