It would essentially be like a kick starter campaign.

Guys we would like you to donate so and so money and if you guys reach it we will give the forum x, y and Z. If you go even higher you can even have extra perks.

All anonymous. All implemented across the board to new members, old members.

The site I donate on just has the word Donater under the username,we get nothing more than none donators but we like the site so much the donations are not a problem,its a quick paypal button.

now because of the irrational illogical and baseless arguments given by people who oppose the feature the emphasis is on the donations aspect and not the premium features

All I'm asking for is a donation button, I'd happily donate (anonymously, don't see the point of making it public so you can brag about how much of a good samaritan you are). Don't need any perks or features or VIP sections, especially if you only care about keeping the forum going.

I'd rather there was just an anonymous donation sidebar and that was that. No elite memberships, no elite perks

But It's not my choice at the end of the day and I won't lose any sleep whatever happens.

I think some people are taking things waaaay too seriously... all I did was post a suggestion and now I'm asking people to buy me privleges?

I think I'm gonna avoid this thread. If new features get implemented, good. I just hope that this forum isn't ruined social-wise because of it.
