This was the first ever episode I have ever watched and I loved it! Loved the first elimination and the blindside, but really wish Michael had gone second. But you can kind of tell they were setting Jacob up in the editing, whoever they show being voted I'll just take it it's not them in future?

A blindside in Survivor is a real blindside when someone gets voted out and are surprised when they hear the votes, this was no blindside.

I think I've made peace with the fact that I'll finish an episode of Survivor now and have nothing of note to say about it, because in this form it's just a really uninspiring show?

I didn't dislike it (it was a better premiere than HHH, as if that isn't a low hurdle to clear), but it didn't leave me with a single thought I'm keen on sharing with the world. C'est la vie I guess!

So I rewatched this yesterday for edgic purposes and I think I came out with a more favorable view on it than I did during the first airing? Like it's hard for a Survivor premiere to be offensively bad (I say that even though MvGX and HHH both happened very recently), but this cast seems like nice people who are both largely likable and ready to Play Da Game.

That being said the editing was a complete **** show, because the only people were know on Naviti are Domenick and Chris, and the only thing we know about Malolo is that everyone hated Jacob. And now the tribe swap is supposed to bring ~drama~ even though we don't know anyone's relationships with anyone else so I have a feeling Wednesday's episode is gonna be a lot of backtelling about how, like, Angela, Bradley, Chelsea, and Desiree are an unbreakable alliance while Laurel and Libby have an airtight F2 deal and **** like that.
