I’m not a political expert or encyclopaedia, so correct me if I’m wrong, but when she was waffling about the state of the country when she grew up through the 80’s and into the 90’s, wasn’t that entire period run by the Tories as well? Like never mind shooting herself in the foot, she shoots herself straight in the face whenever she opens her mouth, it’s so equally tragic and glorious that it’s almost impressive.

Joey

On all the Live News teams,
those walking out
of Truss talking.

Like you said, not much new.

They were all positive
One bloke said this was his first,
but thought it was real great.

They must have been in a trance
or something like that....................

Yes I saw some of that arista.

One word not applicable to her speech is great.
There was really nothing at all which hadn't been heard through the leadership campaign or in recent interviews either.

Truss is going to be gone soon, and it's going to be an almighty mess. Who honestly thinks her term as prime minister is going to have a long, happy outcome

What people need to ask themselves is why the Tories can't seem to find themselves a good leader?

We've literally seen the party have four consecutive incompetent leaders, that surely has to be a record.

Was Cameron incompetent? His premiership seems remarkably stable now compared to what came afterwards, although his successors have had to deal with challenges no one could have imagined back in 2015

I wasn't a fan of Cameron('s policies) but objectively, as a leader of a party, he was fine. Leastways from what I remember. But look at what we've had since so that could just be a matter of comparison.

Feel like in my adult life from like 2014 - June 2016 is more or less the only time this country has been pretty stable, past the economic crash and the worst of austerity and before the Brexit referendum, Covid, Ukraine war and cost of living crisis
