On what grounds?

They're imaginative, they're interesting, they're well-written and they're pretty much the only series that have kept today's generation with an interest in reading (the only other example (though a bad one) I can think of is the Twilight series).

Sounds like a pitch for having a GCSE course in Harry Potter. If re-elected the Labour Government may introduce a fast-track degree course in Harry Potter

The best thing about the books are that, to rape a cliche, they are an entire universe like, man.

Sounds like a counter-argument with no coherence. If you reply you may be equally dismissive without any basis.

Not read them all but so far The Prisoner of Azkaban

Currently reading Order of the Pheonix but I'm hit and miss with HP books and tend to put them down and leave for weeks

My least favourite HP would have to be Philosiphers Stone, it was a good book, but it was the most child friendly book out of them all and wasnt as full on as the rest

Good story I found but as you say, very 'young'. As I said earlier though it's why I like how the books grow and mature with Harry and the others. The first is an easy read for one sitting. The next a little more gripping and so on and so on....

I keep feeling like starting them from scratch again as I read them in such sporadic bursts first time around. I'll see how I go with the one I'm reading at the moment. I'd love to read them all simply as I love books and they seem to be such a 'must read'

I can't think of one favourite.I love the last 3 especially but I grew up with the early ones. They're all great but I reread the last 3 more than the others.
