As the current knowledge we have suggests that we all come from one woman who lived in Africa, perhaps it is not such a silly question.

....... Adam and Eve had plenty of children. More than just Cain, Abel and Seth. The text suggests that women after Eve had more difficult and longer childbirths. Eve (who lived for many centuries) may have had hundreds of children. While Cain and Abel are referred to as 'brothers' it is interesting that the others are not referred to that way but as 'other people'. They mate with 'other people' and not 'sisters'. IF you 'extrapolate backwards' then the (in our terminology) the 'sisters and brothers' would have massive genetic diversity between them and so (by our standards) are nothing like 'brother and sister' at all. In fact, if you look at it this way - an Irish couple is far far more like an 'inbreeding incestuous' match than would be Seth and the 'other person' woman he marries. This would also square with God waiting some time before declaring something now called 'incest' to be unlawful. Now for the Belly Buttons.. ... I am going to say that Adam and Eve both had Unused Belly Buttons. What? Well they may not have had an actual 'cord tie' squiggle but I am going to side with 'divots' or 'dimples' you might say. Why? the way I see it is that God forms them as adults anyways and so for that matter they already are 'as if' having had baby, toddler, teen bodies. Presumably Adam has a post-pubescent body and I suppose the glands able to have done that, but, not just because they were formed 'as if having grown' but because they were formed with the intention of being 'templates'. Those 'templates' would have the belly-button codes and so I suppose the 'divots' where their replications need to have them. So I say unused belly-button place-holder indents. |
