Its perfectly easy to put the people who are using GIFS on ignore, as has already been pointed out. And I'm sure if you ask the people that quote them NICELY they would have no problem stopping doing that.

And if they annoy you as much as you say they so, there is an option to turn off images. No way should they be regarded the same as text speech, the only reason this was said was because you do not like ONE member who is posting them. look around, smithy is not the only person to use gifs.

On the other hand, smithy I do agree you were overusing them a bit yesterday.

You would not be able to see any images if you turn them off.

The ignore thing, if they DID bother you so much, you would use ignore, especially as it is only one person that most of you in here are moaning about. Simple. Some people just like any excuse to moan.

I like looking at normal pictures, just not thousands of gifs. And I pointed out Smithy because I was trying to read a thread posted yesterday and there must have been at least 20 gifs posted (probably all of the man gaga) and they kept freezing my Firefox, I had to restart it in the end.

If I put Smithy on ignore pretty much every single thread would be full of "This person is on your ignore list - click here to see the post" because he posts so much because he is on here pretty much 24/7...

And I have very nicely let Ninastar and Gypsy Goth know about the new rule

I wonder if there is a way to remove that message actually...I remember I used to have someone on ignore and it came up with that. Its not really ignoring them if you can still see where they post.

But yes, the pure amount of gifs used last night was ridiculous. That is very rare though. And I see no reason to ban them totally
