Wonderful. You're an idiot.

As a side note I do watch the news - I don't think you do - and I see no great cause for panic with relation to these evil censors. Kids have easier access to violent and disturbing content right now than at any other point in history. A bitter politician looking to make headlines will come out of the woodwork every now and then looking for tighter restrictions but these moral outrage stories-of-the-week almost never translate into legislative action.

I see no problem at all with age ratings. I don't want kids sitting anywhere near me when I go to the movies. I assume you draw the line on your view at some point - perhaps at allowing a young child access to hardcore pornography - which totally debases and contradicts your own argument?
Erm, OK, no need to call me an "idiot". Anyway, I see your point.

I was under the impression that the 'censors' bit was about films that are determined too violent or whatever for anyone...not age restrictions :/

I agree with age restrictions, but not with banning films altogether.

I'm bound to honesty.

And yeah Vicky the post I was responding to specifically mentioned age restrictions although I agree with not censoring the actual content of films. A step too far that should never be done.

Preventing kids from accessing them is one thing. Preventing adults from accessing them is just absurd and always wrong when you are talking about fictional content.

I'd hate to live in a place like Australia where they do that with video games in particular all the time. And that's a first world democracy!

Yeah I know you were talking about something different. Just thought I would clarify that my earlier post didnt mean I agreed with this ridiculous idea of not having age censors

Sorry, Vicky and Almighty Stu.

OK, maybe age restrictions is all right, but branding a movie "too graphic for anybody" is complete and utter nonsense.

Yup. Still some people who argue that its right though. I dont care how sick the film is, how violent, how scary or whatever...adults should have the choice of watching it if they want to :/

Its like this whole ****e with the human centipede 2. Personally I wouldnt even want to watch it...but censoring it totally is just pathetic

Well thats something else. People WILL still watch it anyway. And them making such a big fuss out of banning it...will make more people want to watch it just to see if its as bad as its meant to be.

Yeah I agree with Vicky, it's fictionalised and no matter how sick it is I think adults can make up their own mind over whether they want to watch a film or not, they shouldnt be banned from doing so because a few people don't like what's in it. But yeah, no problem with age certificates at all

i don't watch movies as much as i used to. The older you get, the less new things seem. I think most movies require a suspension of disbelief, and the older you get, the more cynical you get, so you are less able to immerse yourself in the movie completely.

I think younger people still enjoy movies a lot.
