With the amount they have won: I'd be surprised if they didn't make quite a few 'millionaires' - I know for absolutely certainty that if were me, I would not think twice - people who have been true friends, would never have to worry financially ever again. £7,000 a DAY interest (estimated) Bloody hell !!! ![]() Can you imagine the 'good' that could be done. How fulfilling your life could be, visiting places all over the world if that was your thing, helping, seeing the results.....what a fantastic position to be in. |

I agree, so much of that money can go to charity. It can infact completely change the lives of numerous charity organisations.

£7k interest a day! What would be enough to live on.
Well obviously enough! Then I would get rid when I'm about to die |

In the papers
that silly couple had to move out there home due to strangers asking direct for cash. She said she thought of not going Public that would have been better. They thought they could stay in the house after telling the World the place the live. They have much to learn. |

Good on them any derogative comments about them speak volumes about the morons making them.
They have already expressed a wish to set up a charitable organisation bless them x Personally i would tell everybody that i planned to keep every penny and screw charity whilst simultaneously going about making decisions on how would be best to contribute a good chunk of it to help as many people/charitys as i could. Any haters would be exposed and seen for what they are. Last edited by billy123; 17-07-2011 at 09:55 AM. |

Here comes the down side of the lottery winners.... from a head f*** pov - it must be right up there in the top 10. This is where they find their lives have now changed forever - and this is the down side coming into play. This is where they find who their true friends are. |

They should be able to spend their money in whatever way they want - they won it fair and square.

![]() It's £20k per annum for 10 years: and honestly, as much as it sounds a huge amount -it isn't. It can be spent in the blink of an eye. |

I've always said that if I won that amount of money, I'd build my own little area with a few houses, and everyone that I loved would get their own house and we'd make our own little village with all of our massive mansions

Shame but it was a certainty to happen. As long as they are able to not let it 'get to them' - they have a lot of adjustment to do. |

I live a life where I actually don't need too much to keep me happy - I don't need (or want) a huge amount of people around me. I'd jaunt between some fab private tropical exotic beachhouse and somewhere in the middle of a forest - and be happy to become the next old Brigette Bardot, with my closest friends being at the end of a phone/keyboard and coming to visit. If I won what this couple did... I'd probably do the same as you Lewis: give a lot of it away: Sounds bliss!! ![]() |

Yes, Camelot would have advised them. Not only would they have done so, Camelot would have provided their own advisors to be available to them, and free of charge. You can take that from me, that I know this as absolute fact. To bring it down to simplicity for you - an advisor advises. They give advice only. They would have been advised on reasons for disclosing, as well as reasons against. The decision belonged to the winning couple. |

It believe it isn't a lot. To me, I do not regard it as enough to be life changing. Nowhere near close enough to be life changing in the way some people may think. We are going to have to agree to disagree and accept that we have very different opinions on this one. ![]() Last edited by Pyramid*; 17-07-2011 at 04:10 PM. |

Oh I totally understand what you are saying, and why. You are indeed correct: but I don't like the comparison to 'one man's tat, another man's gold'. It wasn't meant like that. As for the Pimms.... large one please... full of ice! |
