The old fans may of 'moved on' after BB10 - because that's when everything started going wrong, once the live feed was took away.
And the primary basis of the show was demolished, then of course by BB11 it was already too late and by that stage the producers decided to turn it into a kids show.

This is exactly why the ratings fell so dramatically. And the fact they can't see that is a joke.

'New fans are beginning to get use to the live feed being absent'
No, because 'new fans' are a pack of chavs who tune in 3 times a week to see what hunks are in the house. The REAL fans however, haven't 'got use to it'. We're simply fed up ******ing trying our best to get the message through to their ill-educated little minds, that a live feed is what Big Brother is built on.
If you were to write a book, i would buy it. Your rants are ****ing awesome

No live feed, because they need to put all their energy into offering zelebs odd jobs as there isn't enough room for them all in just two ZBBs a year.

They say papers dont cover BB as much anymore but thats due to them not being able to create breaking stories from watching and grabbing pics for headlines from live feed.

Stupid people.

Like any paper would cover a washed up show like Big Brother anyway. There's just not enough interest.

But barely. You're deluding yourself if you think live feed would bring more Big Brother-related stories. Doubt the people they'd have covering it would even watch the live feed. We're talking about such a tiny portion of the viewers.

Y'all want to believe live feed has this huge impact, but it really doesn't. The viewing figures would be minuscule. There's no real benefit for them to bring it back, and that's why they won't.

1 million viewers tuned into last years hour of live feed.

That doesn't mean anything. It was right an eviction, right? One concentrated hour. A 24/7 live feed wouldn't get anywhere near that. One hour after an eviction/event is the only time it'd be worth airing.

Regular BB has lost over 1 and a half million viewers actually so i dont know why you think old and new fans are still watching.

I just don't get why the crowd don't start a massive Live Feed chant at the launch or an eviction tbh...

Jeff Ford thinks the 'old fans have moved on'. Yeah sure, that's why you have hundreds of people on BB forums frantically showing their disgust at having no live feed. Not to mention offline, I have loads of friends and family...who's only reason for not watching anymore is because there is "no point" when there is no live feed. All that's being shown is a load of edited crap that's no better than that of what is already being shown on reality shows, such as TOWIE. The point of the show is to watch REAL people live in the house and see them for who THEY are....not what you (c5) want us to see!!!

I have watched EVERY single Big Brother and in the past, rather than watch any shows, I'd watch the live feed. Hell I'd even pay a subscription for it, and I know there are a ton of you who will feel the same way.

Bring back the live bloody feed. Arrrgh!!!!! This annoys me so much as a huge BB fan

I'm sorry but it's not even a debate about whether it's 'worth it' or not, it's a fundamental, basic element of the format of Big Brother. If every country, even the poorest, has 24/7 live feed available for their Big Brother, there is absolutely no excuses why we can't have it here. It's just embarrassing and a total mockery of the premise of the show.

It doesn't differentiate itself from other similar reality TV shows anymore, it can so easily be compared to the likes of TOWIE, Made In Chelsea, I'm A Celebrity etc, when just a few years ago it was the daddy of all reality TV. Now, as some people say (including myself) - it's just another TV show.

There are no cons to having live feed, it's all advantages. There is no possible way you can properly get to know a bunch of housemates with 48 minutes of condensed footage a night. There's no way you can get as 'into' the show as you could before, as much as I still watched last year I could quite easily have missed a few and not been bothered. Like I said, it was just another TV show that I watch.

C5 have taken the format and shat all over it. You cannot justify not providing a 24/7 live feed service, even on a paid subscription when many are willing to fork out for it. It is essential, that is what Big Brother is and always has been - being able to watch them 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Without that, it is not Big Brother. And they can create just about any storyline and narrative they wish, and none of us would have a ****ing clue.

Well said Jack.

I honestly think they should stop using the name Big Brother tbh. I mean clearly what they wanted was The Only Way Is Essex - but in a house. And they got it. But because their last stint like this failed [Back to Reality] they've decided to take the Big Brother name and bastardize the hell out of it.

I think Patrick means BB12 returned to a more grown up BB where housemates were actually allowed alcohol, parties. Were allowed to have proper arguments without BB interupting just incase any offence was caused to viewers and Channel 5 were not afraid to air controvercy.

BB12 was the best series since BB9 and if it had had a live feed would have been a classic.

Embaressingly "Back to Reality" averaged the same ammount of viewers as BB12 lol plus had a live feed.

Shame on Channel 5.

I liked BB12 as it was an improvement on BB11.
