Hands off my Brick!
|
Jesus, my own daughter is twelve, I certainly wouldn't let her travel alone on a bus like that to go shopping, especially if I was living in London.

Kids start secondary school at 11 here so its not uncommon in the holidays for kids (as they are all issued with bus passes) to use public transport to go to the cinema, or shopping with their friends. What is unusual is for her to go on her own, and with no phone or bus pass, somethings not quite right.

A police dog team are searching Tia Sharp's grandmother's house as the hunt for the missing schoolgirl continues.
The 12-year-old was last seen on Friday leaving the home in New Addington in Croydon, south London. This morning, two police search teams were briefed and began searching a wooded area at the bottom of the estate, around 400 yards from her grandmother Christine Sharp's home. Later, two officers with a police search dog searched the terraced home for 30 minutes shortly after the family were given an inquiry update by Detective Chief Inspector Nick Scola. He emerged from the house, where Mrs Sharp, 46, lives with her boyfriend Stuart Hazell, 37, and told reporters: "I have been in to see the family and update them with details of the investigation. "Of those details there is nothing I can share with you at the moment." He said an update would be provided later. Sky's crime correspondent Martin Brunt, at the scene, said: "This is where the family say Tia was last seen. "And what continues to frustrate and puzzle and concern police is they have yet to find any evidence of Tia leaving the house, getting on a bus or tram that would have taken her into Croydon - which is where she told her family she was going that Friday." Mr Hazell was, according to the family, the last man to see Tia before she left the house. Some newspapers this morning reported details of Mr Hazell's background, which could fuel tensions on the estate, Brunt added. As the search continues, members of her local community have pledged to do all they can to help find her. Tia's stepfather David Niles said the family were "in bits", adding: "I just want to find my little girl." Mr Niles, wearing a Find Tia campaign T-shirt, said: "How would you feel if it was your daughter? We're in bits. The whole country has helped us and is supporting us." The Sun newspaper has offered a Ł25,000 reward for information that will lead to police finding Tia. Tia vanished after telling relatives she was going to the Whitgift Centre in Croydon town centre. Police have been scouring hours of CCTV footage but said they had not found any trace of the schoolgirl, who has never gone missing before. Sky Last edited by Mrluvaluva; 08-08-2012 at 12:33 PM. |

I agree with what Niamh's saying. If I ever had children, I wouldn't let them use public transport until at least 14.
The fact that this girl thinks she can go out with a mobile phone says it all really.

The media seem to be focusing on her grandmothers boyfriend:
"Stuart Hazell, 37, is the partner of 12–year–old Tia Sharp's maternal grandmother, Christine, and was the last member of the family to see her. There are conflicting reports about whether he last saw her at the house he shares with her grandmother in New Addington, south London, or whether he walked her to a local tram station. Hazell has lived with Mrs Sharp, 46, for about four years, having previously dated her daughter, Tia's 31–year–old mother Natalie Sharp. Hazell was jailed for 12 months in 2010 at Croydon Crown Court after being caught with a machete. His father, Keith, confirmed that his son had been in prison but said that since meeting Mrs Sharp he had turned his life around. "Having the family around has really sorted him out," he said. "He is a different person and is really happy. He had a biological daughter but has never really seen her. He treated Tia like his own." Tia spent every weekend with her grandmother and Hazell. On Friday, Mrs Sharp, a care worker, went to work and had left Tia in her partner's care." Telegraph |

Blimey what a tangled web. He is bound to be a suspect, might be nothing in it, but his story isnt exactly making sense.

It's very often someone close to home involved in cases like this. It's over a week now since her disappearance so chances of her being found alive are slim. I pray she is found alive and well, but fear for her. I hate the world today when I read stuff like this, it's sickening and scary. Can remember being devasted about Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman suffering at the hands of that evil bastard Huntley. He should have been put down like an animal.

Police have taken Stuart Hazel
away. SkyNewsHD Live "Stuart Hazell, 37, is the partner of 12–year–old Tia Sharp's maternal grandmother, Christine, and was the last member of the family to see her." He has given his mates one account and Police another. Not BBCNews they are on Live sport even though its on BBC1? Last edited by arista; 08-08-2012 at 04:41 PM. |
