Exactly, we saw it, the people in the house saw it. How he thinks he is going to convince anybody otherwise is just insane. Poor Luke he is completely deluded.

It's probably what he does in general - makes up a 'story' in his head that makes him look good and then clings to it no matter how much evidence there is to suggest it is BS. Unfortunately this strategy doesn't work when you are surrounded by cameras and all the viewers have seen what really happened. I guess while he is still in the house he can convince himself his story is true - despite Deana's best efforts - obviously when he gets out that isn't going to work.
