Perhaps they're even friends with the person who committed the assault. I sometimes see the person who assaulted me socially and I don't harbour any ill will towards them. These things can be incredibly complex...

That was quite a tough post to read, you have my support for relating what is clearly quite traumatic details of an experience that was for you not consensual

I know from my own experiences that some men make assumptions about a situation that are completely wrong.

I hope you have sought and received the necessary help and support needed to rise above this and have been able to move forward.

Agree with you, and I'm sure you are not alone in what you have described, individuals will react differently, just because it is years later should not diminish the impact, and should be given just a fair a hearing as something that happened yesterday.

Informed legal opinion is that he will receive a sentence of about 2 years with 1 year suspended so he will go to prison and probably spend about 6 months inside.

When I say inside I mean inside an open prison with all the comforts of home. He should be able finally make a start on his memoirs...

Can you imagine the stuff he must know ?
