The central message is strong but they didn't need all the padding and the unnecessary reversal of straight/gay.

Just doing a simple video of a tormented gay child/teenager would've sufficed to communicate the message. They tried to be clever and do a Black Mirror-esque premise but it failed.

Just because we don't find a heavy handed, cliche ridden and positively amateur film particularly effective we're homophobes?

Subtlety goes a long way in putting across a successful message, this film was so heavy handed that it almost stepped into the realm of parody.

The comments in this thread show just how far we have to go. Anyone who thinks equality is even CLOSE to being achieved, this thread has proven that exactly the opposite is true. We are no where near equality, unfortunately.

The level of ignorance is astounding. That people here think that this movie was being dramatic, that it's not EXACTLY what reality IS in this world right now. Wow most of society is so blind and ignorant.

Maybe you guys missed the bit at the end that mentioned that EVERY single scene in the movie was a TRUE story.

Maybe you missed the bit where the majority of posters pointed out that the film has a valuable message. However, I feel the film failed in what it set out to do.

That in no way makes me homophobic or ignorant. It just means I'm able to point out a ****e film when I see one regardless of its intent.
