They don't always win. Fortunately the nice guy in that scenario was in the final with two uber entertaining people and ended up beating them because of their split vote.

..why with other BB and CBB winners, it's not been said that they represent 'society today' in some way or it's 'downfall' but with Charlotte it apparently does..it's a TV show, nothing more...

Big Brother is a social experiment, and Charlotte winning says something about society today. Society has become more daring, and the kids of today are going to become more promiscuous. Girls drink a lot more, and don't really care anymore on average. The hero, and leader of the pack is the one that is the most daring, and most drunk. People have become in general more argumentative, and there is an age divide between strangers that lessens rapidly with none strangers. The boys no longer have to take charge of situations, and the sensible father figure is rapidly becoming a thing of the past. There is a loss of control in society, noise levels will rise, and street layabouts will rise.

I could not stand her at first...loud and vile. HOWEVER...that behaviour is just attention seeking. The real Charlotte emerged and showed a sensible and decent side and I think it was that that won people over.

![]() Even if this wasn't true, do you really think kids like Charlotte or her fans are the ones drinking MD20/20 in the street with 6 inch blades in their back pockets? Do you think they're the muggers, the violent criminals, or the tragic heroin addicts that litter every small town centre? Do you really think that THIS is "broken britain"?? If you do, I'm sorry but you really need to get off your couch and have a look around. Our society has deep, deep, festering problems but girls like Charlotte farting are not one of them ![]() I'm 28 and I can literally look back 7/8 years to University and think of 4 girls I knew just like Charlotte (worse, in some cases) who are now: a doctor, a lawyer, a civil engineer, and a dentist. All on 50k+ salaries and "contributing to society" in ways that most people who would have branded them "products of broken Britain" never will. Not that job titles or salaries even matter. The point is, they are functional people having fun while theyre young. The fact that people want to brand this "immoral" is really, really sad. Last edited by user104658; 14-09-2013 at 08:51 AM. |

I only have to look back to my day, nothing much has changed, girls AND boys have always drank too much took part in toilet humour and enjoyed sex. That was 40 yeas ago..only difference is we did not have reality TV etc so it was not so much in your face. We all turned out ok in the end ![]() |

But it often seems that people prefer an empty, narcissistic shell of a person - so long as they dress modestly and mind their P's and Q's... even when there's not much underneath. THAT is a sad reflection on society. Choosing meaningless, superficial, taught, "good manners" over a genuinely good heart. Look at the people who DO rise up trough politics. Well spoken, well educated, smartly dressed people who know how to hold their cutlery... but they don't care if you live or die. they don't give a shiny **** about people. |

Ok so case in point: I was just sat on the bus to work and... Behind me there were two junkies merrily discussing where to get the cheapest, best quality gram-for-gram heroin. They were literally having an in depth discussion about the free market economics of the unholy **** that they pump into their veins.
This is why I find it bewildering that people honestly think silly little Charlotte is "everything that's wrong" with society! They must be stumbling through life with their eyes shut because the truth is so much worse that it actually makes the claim freakin hilarious. I would love to still live in that world, where drunk student-type youths are "the worst" we have to put up with. |

The girls in your scenario by charlottes age had finished or were in the latter stages of university. They could hold their bladder sufficiently, conduct conversations adequately and during disagreements could express themselves without swearing and crying? Where I live 'kids' like charlotte go on to have kids like charlotte, not many of them become reality TV stars. Anyone who was honest with themselves could not say they would be happy with the thought of their child exhibiting those behaviours.

The rest of it? No i would have no problem with my daughters being like that at 23. At 30? Maybe. But 23 is just a baby! I know "society" has a ridiculous expectation that anyone over 18 (or 21) should be a fully fledged "adult at all times" but its utter nonsense. Let the girl be young. Yes we should all grow up to be alcoholics, sleeping with people 30 years our youth (not that there is anything wrong with dating whoever you want, I support Doug and Courtney) and spout venom out of our mouths every day instead, much better representative.

![]() I have no doubt I'll be banned soon as I've been warned twice for reiterating that. But I dont really care. It's a fact. Charlotte is a lot more respectful of people than the forum members intent on tearing her down are, and I have infinitely more respect for her as a member of society than I do for them. |
